The group says there have been 155 censorship efforts in US schools and libraries.
As of June 1, the ALA Office of Intellectual Freedom has tracked 155 cases across the country and has assisted and advised on 120 of them, the association said.
“We are seeing an unprecedented amount of challenges in the fall of 2021,” said Deborah Caldwell-Stone, Director of the ALA’s Office of Intellectual Freedom. I can’t recall a time when we faced many challenges every day.”
