The historic plane made a special stop for Wichita Vietnam veterans

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wednesday, July 27 brings a 50-year formative reunion for a Vietnam veteran in Wichita. A plane to Yingling Aviation made a special stopover for Myron Janzen, a man who served his country half a century ago and still maintains his love of aircraft.

Janzen spent a lot of time flying during his service in Vietnam. It was a special plane that he always kept in his heart, a modified Cessna 337.

On Wednesday afternoon, Janzen had the opportunity to reunite on the plane that he was so familiar with during his time in Vietnam.

Pilot Dennis Warren bought and restored a Vietnam-era aircraft.

“Myron has helped me with history, painful work, a lot of history on this plane,” Warren said.

Fourth, Janzen not only got the chance to see the familiar plane he loved, he also got the chance to take it into the sky.

“It was so much better than I remembered,” he said after the unforgettable flight over Wichita. “When I did it before, it was a job, it was a job and you have to watch out because someone is trying to chase you the whole time you’re out there. And here, I feel comfortable, no one shoots at us.”
