The FBI and Texas Department of Public Safety are assisting with a hostage situation at Beth Israel Church in Colleyville, Texas, according to Colleyville Police Sgt. Dara Nelson.
There are no injuries at this time, Nelson said.
According to Nelson, Colleyville police have evacuated the area. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
“FBI negotiators are people who have contact with people in the building.” Nelson said. “There is no threat to the public” at this point, Nelson added.
Any updates officials have will be posted to Facebook and Twitter through police and the city, Nelson added.
