Annie Wersching, who played Tess in the original Our Last video game, died of cancer. The actor is 45 years old.
Famous to the gaming community for playing Tess, Wersching also had a successful career on TV, appearing in two seasons of 24 as Renee Walker, on the Amazon detective show Boschand most recently in the second season of Interstellar Travel: Picard as Queen Borg. Based on Limit lineWersching continued to work after being diagnosed with cancer in 2020.
Creators Our Last TV show, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, said they would dedicate touching third episode last night of the program to Wersching.
“Tonight’s episode turns out to be especially poignant in a way we never hoped or wished for, and we dedicate it to Annie’s tribute.” Mazin and Druckmann said. “It may be too late to bring it to the screen tonight, but we’ll work to get it done as soon as we can.”
Druckmann, the game’s co-creator, pays even more respect on Twitter. “We just lost an artist and a beautiful person. My heart is broken. The thoughts are with her loved ones, he said.
Among the many others paying homage to Wersching is her 24 co-star Kiefer Sutherland. “[She] is one of the greatest actors I have ever had the pleasure of working with, and a friend of mine. My heart breaks for her young family. May she be remembered for the beautiful person she was.” he say.
Wersching died with her husband, actor Stephen Full, and three sons. In a statement, Full said, “There is a hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it in. She finds magic in the simplest of moments. She doesn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Let’s go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And we will find it.”
