The deal signals the end of Porzingis’ time in Dallas after he was given the franchise ahead of the 2019 deal deadline.
Let’s see how the trade breaks down.
Commercial details:
- Sorcerers receive: Kristaps Porzingis
- Mavericks get: Spencer Dinwiddie, Davis Bertans
Porzingis, the one-time NBA star, is the head of this deal.
Across 34 games this season, Porzingis is averaging 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game but only scoring 28.3% from the 3-point range.
While dealing with a knee injury, Porzingis has not played since January 29.
In return, the Mavericks received Dinwiddie, an extra pitcher to play alongside superstar keeper Luka Doncic. Dinwiddie, who returned to action after being torn apart by the ACL last year, is averaging 12.6 points, 5.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds across 44 games this season.
Known for his 3-point shot, Bertans has only appeared in 34 games, averaging 5.7 points while shooting from the depth of just 31.9%.
