The Pokémon trading card design competition has been narrowed down to 300 finalists
Remember this post from October 2021? Okay, so we’ll recap: There’s a competition going on right now for artists to print their illustrations onto actual Pokémon trading cards. Plus you can win money – but we all know that using trading cards is Street worth more than money.
Nearly 11,000 entries have been submitted, and now The Pokémon Company has selected their 300 finalists for “Round One” – you can Check out the full collection here.
You’ll notice a lot of repeat Pokémon – that’s because the judges are looking for specific designs.
The contest allows artists to choose Bulbasaur, Charizard, Pikachu, Arcanine, Galarian Rapidash, Scizor, Greninja and Cramorantwith the specification that art must Not including shiny Pokémon, yes Not for Pokémon to dress, yes Not be Dynamaxed or Gigantamaxed, and must exhibit the theme of “going about its day while adventuring or while enjoying its everyday life.” However, submitted work is allowed in the form of physical materials, such as clay, wool, yarn, etc.
