According to a study by Swiss research group CIES Football Observatory, England’s 26-man squad is worth just under 1.5 billion euros ($1.54 billion), with 19-year-old Bellingham worth 202 million. euros (207.4 million USD).

Transfer Value

Brazil is second on the list after England with a transfer value of 1.45 billion euros ($1.49 billion), and Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior was their most valuable player for 200 million euros ($205 million).

France ranked third with an estimated transfer value of 1.34 billion ($1.38 billion) to their team. Paris St Germain (PSG) in front of Kylian Mbappe as their top player, with a value of 185 million euros ($190 million).

The top three are followed by Spain at 1.2 billion euros ($1.23 billion), Portugal at 1.15 billion euros ($1.18 billion) and Germany at 1.02 billion euros ($1.05 billion).

The CIES Football Observatory estimates the total value of all teams at the 2022 World Cup at 15 billion euros ($15.4 billion) based on a statistical technique involving more than 2,000 transactions of players transferred from clubs in Europe’s five major leagues between July 2012 and November 2021.

Insurance value:

In terms of insurable value, England once again top the list of World Cup teams with an estimated insurable value of £3.17 billion ($3.76 billion), according to analysis by Lloyd’s of London and supported by the Center for Economic and Business Research.

Britain overtook France with £2.66 billion ($3.15 billion) and Brazil with £2.56 billion ($3.04 billion) to take the top spot.

Lloyd’s said the assessment of insurance value includes a variety of indicators such as salary, sponsorship, age and positions on the field.

Bellingham is rated as the player with the most insurance, followed by Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

Lloyd’s model is based on the belief that the quality of a team can be assessed by measuring factors such as player salaries, endorsement earnings and age, since a team’s value is an indicator good news about that team’s talent on the pitch.
