Theodore man chased by police by car and on foot | Alabama Mobile County News
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A 42-year-old man was arrested by police after leading law enforcement in a car chase and then on foot Wednesday afternoon, according to the Mobile Police Department.
Police said it was around 12:49 p.m. when a police officer was in the area of Highway 90 and Kooiman Road and observed a traffic violation. Police said the driver of the vehicle, 42-year-old Brandon Eicholtz, did not accept the lights and sirens and led policemen.
The chase ended on Bucknell Drive when the driver crashed into a fence on the Mobile Area Water & Sewer System property. Police say Eicholtz got out of his car and fled on foot.
After a brief chase, police said, Eicholtz wanted to gain compliance and was taken into custody without further incident.
Through the investigation process, the functional force discovered that the car had been stolen and was used to carry out a theft involving wave runners earlier the same day.
Eicholtz was charged with receiving stolen property, theft of property and attempting to go into hiding.
