“It’s like you have butter in your hand” – Shubman Gill on the effects of dew
In response to a question about bowling and batting with fog around, Gill said it was difficult. He compared the situation to players with butter on hand. The 23-year-old explained:
“It’s not easy when you go bowling Monday with so much mist. It is not easy to control a wet ball. Sometimes spinners can be out of the game. But that didn’t happen in this match. Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) is very good at bowling and Axar bhai (Patel) is also very good at bowling. It is also a challenge for the court, as the ball sometimes slips off the field. It was difficult to catch the ball because it was wet. It’s like having butter in your hand.”
A day earlier, after India lost on the pitch and was asked to hit the ball, Gill made a significant impact with the willow, scoring 70 out of 60.
