No idea when these games will leave Arcade. However, a recently published supporting article on Apple Arcade give us an idea of what happens when a game leaves the Arcade.
What happens when a game leaves Apple Arcade
Apple says that games are destined to leave Arcade, and if you downloaded a game before it stopped working, you should be able to play it for at least two more weeks. However, if you haven’t downloaded the game before it leaves the Arcade, you won’t be able to play it and you’ll get a “No Longer Available Message” message. The same applies to users who downloaded it before but are trying to play it after the two-week period.
There’s no mention of why these games are leaving Arcade, but a recent report by MacRumors gives us some idea of what’s going on. According to reports, Apple has signed a three-year contract with developers to bring their games to Arcade in 2019.
Why Are These Games Leaving Apple Arcade
It’s 2022 and some of these contracts are coming to an end and Apple may not be renewing some of them; so the game will soon leave the service. How soon? We expect these games to be available until September this year. Apple Arcade was launched in September 2019.
Chances are some of these games are still available on the App Store. In that case the user will have to re-download the game but don’t worry, because your progress will be saved and you can continue where you left off before.
