‘This is common man’s govt’: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde says no bandobast needed for his convoy | Mumbai News
MUMBAI: Saying this is the government of ordinary people, prime minister Maharashtra Eknath Shinde on Friday directed officials that there is no need to provide protocol for his fleet.
The minister held discussions with state police superintendent Rajnish Seth and Mumbai police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar.
Shinde instructed that there should be no police bandobast for his convoy, as it causes difficulties and delays for ordinary people, a statement from the prime minister’s office (CMO) said.
“This is a government of ordinary people, so he should take precedence over the VIPs,” said Shinde.
CM added that the special protocol causes traffic growls, disrupting people’s daily life and creating a burden on the police force.
