What do you do after becoming James Bond? That is a difficult question. Daniel Craig tells GQ in his informal exit interview from the movie, there is no viable way to map out his next steps. “It’s not like, ‘Okay, this will be my career after Bond.’ There are no plans for it,” he said. Meanwhile, the search for the new Bond is as hidden and protected as the MI6 organization in the movies. One obvious answer is Craig did not have to go search? The identity of his new favorite watch. In his latest red carpet appearance, Craig still appears in Oh-mee-guh, which the actor wore during his Bond tenure. Instead of wearing the brand’s latest release, however, Craig is now perusing Omega’s archives.

The 007 formerly wore a vintage Omega Seamaster Memomatic, possibly from the 70s. Memomatic is Omega’s answer to the alarm wristwatch craze. While the Vulcain Cricket is perhaps the most famous of this type of watch, the Memomatic has distinguished itself in a number of ways. First: a flexible barrel-shaped case that sets the watch apart. The other big development is engineering. Unlike Cricket or Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Memovox, which can only ring on the hour, Memomatic’s alarm can be set to a specific time and minute. In the middle of the last century, alarm clocks came across very important people with very important things to do. Now, on Craig’s wrist, it looks like the watch is still popular with VIPs.

Chris Paul’s Rolex Submariner
One of my favorite things about the watch world is the obsession with naming things — every little detail and touch that always seems to inspire a nickname for a watch. Get the blue-bezel and champagne dial Submariner stopping at Paul’s show, a solid sports watch. This particular model, produced in the early 1980s, features a Serti dial. It comes from the French word “sertir,” which means to put. Here, that refers to the diamond-put markers and sapphires at the 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions.

Patek Philippe Nautilus by Zendaya
Are Tom Holland and Zendaya the most powerful watch collector couple in the world? Zendaya started wearing this — the women’s version of beloved (and discontinued) 5711 Nautilus-round to the right when she and Holland last advertised Spiderman movie. There is a good lesson in love here: find someone who encourages you to buy too beautiful and expensive watches.

Guy Fieri’s Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore
Loyal readers of this column will know Fieri holds her wrist packaged with More flavors and variety than a Turducen. This Royal Oak Offshore is an exceptionally luxurious piece in his collection. What I appreciate about Fieri, the watch collector, is that he seems to ditch all the classics in favor of much wilder choices. Why get the standard Royal Oak when you can get this instead, with its pale blue dial and orange accents? It’s like the navy-blue and orange colors of Gulf Oil have a millennium child.

Randall Park’s Rolex GMT-Master II Watch
Park presents himself as a serious Watch Dude in one Steps are Hodinkee interview. He loves his Rolex Explorer but also owns a Vulcain Cricket and a square Heuer from 1974. But his first watch purchase was a dark blue “Batman” GMT. “Come from a family of Korean immigrants, Rolex is like the ultimate symbol of success in America,” he said. Hodinkee. Park’s love for Rolex and GMT has clearly not faded. At the Netflix Is a Joke festival, the actor was spotted wearing a black and brown version of the “Root Beer” watch with a stainless steel, rose gold combination case and bracelet.
