‘Thor 4’ Dangerous with $143 million best opening franchise – The Hollywood Reporter

Marvel and Disney’s Thor: Love and Thunder fueled the summer box office rally with a domestic cume of $143 million, the best of an indie series starring Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding superhero.

The picture opened in line with expectations in North America, where it scored the third-best opening of the post-pandemic era Spider-Man: There’s no way home ($260 million) and Doctor Strange in Madness’ Multiverse ($187.4 million).

Thor: Love and Thunder also performed well overseas, earning $159 million at the international box office with a global start of $302 million.
