Three potential landing spots for RB Kareem Hunt
Rerun Kareem Hunt remains one of the top free agents available after the Browns decided not to re-sign him in the belief that he was “Fall” in terms of speed. These are the three teams that Hunt could finish at the start of the 2023 season.
Jaguar
Carolina signed free agent RB Miles Sanders earlier in free agency, but you can never surround your rookie quarterback with too much talent. No. 1 pick Bryce Young would certainly benefit from a one-two punch when running back against Sanders and Hunt.
The Panthers also lost RB D’Onta Foreman in free agency, and Hunt will bring that kind of hard run back to a room that includes more nimble runners like Sanders and Chuba Hubbard. The team will likely have a front-runner mentality under new head coach Frank Reich and Hunt will provide experience and depth.
country music
Re-running Javonte Williams could miss the start of the season after tearing his ACL net in 2022, which would leave a huge hole in the year’s starting position. The move will make a lot of sense for both sides as Hunt tries to improve his career and Denver gets solid insurance.
When Williams returns, the two could create one of the better back-to-back duos in the league, similar to what we saw with Hunt and Nick Chubb in Cleveland. The Broncos brought in RB Samaje Perine this season, but Hunt will likely be an upgrade for him.
Ravens
What better way to return to the Browns than to sign their rivals AFC North and play against them twice a year? Baltimore has had one of the NFL’s most bombastic attacks of the past few years, and Hunt will only add to it.
Backward JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards were both injured last season, so Hunt will provide some much needed depth to the room in case it gets injured again. Plus, Raven certainly has the means to transfer money after signing a record-breaking deal with QB Lamar Jackson.
