Throop man arrested after 9-month investigation into Auburn overdose death | Crime and Courts
A nine-month investigation into an Auburn overdose demise has led to the arrest of a Throop man accused of promoting medication to the sufferer.
Michael Chapman, 31, of 2539 Sittser Street, was arrested and charged with second-degree manslaughter and third-degree legal sale of a managed substance. The fees, in accordance with the Auburn Police Division, are for Chapman’s alleged actions “that contributed to the demise of the sufferer.”
Chapman was processed and arraigned in Auburn Metropolis Court docket, police stated.
Auburn police started investigating the overdose demise on Jan. 18 when officers and Auburn firefighters have been dispatched to a Catlin Road residence for a report of an unconscious man. When first responders arrived on the scene, the person was useless from an obvious drug overdose.
