Thysia Huisman, One of Jeffrey Epstein’s Alleged Pimp Jean-Luc Brunel’s Victims, Questions His Death

On Saturday, a French model scouting and believed to be a victim buyer for wealthy sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in a Paris cell. Jean-Luc Brunel, 76, is said to have hanged himself while awaiting trial for raping underage girls — a stunning ending that resembles his cannibal friend.

Thysia Huisman, who brought the rape charge against Brunel in 2019 and has since been prosecuted in France, told The Daily Beast that she was “shocked” and “angry” that the criminal case she was facing spent years fighting has suddenly come to an end.

“I was thinking about the trial one day and he’s going to be in front of the judge, that as victims we’re going to have our moment in court,” the former model told The Daily Beast on Saturday. . “This feels disappointing. It’s a different kind of ending, not a closing at all.”

“I have mixed feelings,” Huisman continued. “I fought for this for 2.5 years and suddenly: poof it’s gone.”

“In the end, the most important thing is that he goes to jail because we as victims turned against him.”

Huisman testified that Brunel drugged and raped her in 1991, when she was an 18-year-old model in Paris. She said she had kept quiet for nearly three decades because of feelings of shame and guilt but contacted French police in September 2019, shortly after Epstein committed suicide in a federal prison in New York. Manhattan.

Several other victims joined Huisman in reporting Brunel to the police that year. Huisman told us: “My case is well past the statute of limitations but it was great to be the first to report him. “That sends the message that you shouldn’t be silent anymore.”

But in a case different from the Epstein case, Huisman said she was “doubtful” of Brunel’s ill-timed outcome. Like Epstein, Brunel hanged himself in his cell before facing a jury on the alleged sex charge.

“Sounds suspicious,” Huisman told The Daily Beast. “I don’t believe it, that he committed suicide. It’s like what happened to Epstein. It’s so convenient.”

“Those people, they’re not the suicidal type,” she added. “He believed he was going out, so why would he kill himself, you know?”

An investigation is underway into how Brunel died.

According to Huisman, Brunel’s legal team was trying to get him out of jail because of his age but a judge denied his request.

“But to me, he’s not the suicidal type,” Huisman said. “He was too arrogant, too complacent. That is my theory”.

Huisman is not alone in her suspicions about how Brunel died.

On Twitter, a group of observers posted a strangely familiar line: “Brunel did not commit suicide.” Some suggest Brunel is “Epsteined.”

“It’s so weird that this keeps happening!” an editor Ash Sarkar based in London tweeted.

“Jean-Luc Brunel ‘committed suicide.’ He is accused of bribing young girls for Jeffrey Epstein to abuse,” wrote former British prosecutor Nazir Afzal. Friend of Ghislaine Maxwell and called one of her abusers by Virginia Guiffre. ”

“He is awaiting trial in France for sexual abuse. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but..”

While Huisman couldn’t be sure that Brunel didn’t kill himself, she said, “It’s strange that he wasn’t on track for suicide and this could have happened in a cell.

“For Epstein, it was like a story. I didn’t buy it”.

For many years, Brunel was a key member of Epstein’s inner circle, frequenting his homes in Florida and the US Virgin Islands and a frequent guest on Epstein’s private jet.

At the criminal trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate late last year, jurors saw a photo of Brunel and the British social media site posing with Epstein on a plane. Virginia Roberts Giuffre has claimed Brunel provided a steady stream of underage girls for the financier to abuse through his MC2 modeling agency.

In a 2015 affidavit, Giuffre said Brunel invited girls “from poor countries or from poor backgrounds” before sending them to Epstein to be sexually abused. “Jeffrey Epstein told me he slept with more than 1,000 of Brunel’s girls, and everything I’ve seen confirms this,” Giuffre stated in the document.
