Tiger Woods ends rough first round at UK Open six strokes over par
Tiger Woods found water on the first hole to start Thursday at the 2022 British Open and never found the rhythm. He finished his first round six strokes on par and was near the bottom of the tournament standings.
Woods, 46, hit three birdies on Thursday, but those holes were covered by five bogeys and two double bogeys. On the first hole, his tee shot lands with a divot on the fairway and his second shot roll into the burn in front of the green.
Through four holes, Woods was four holes taller and couldn’t get out of the hole. He finished his day 146th out of 156 players in the tournament, 14 strokes behind leader Cameron Young.
