Tina Fey, Paul Rudd Introduce John Mulaney to the Five Floor Club ‘SNL’ – The Hollywood Reporter

Five-time hosts Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, Steve Martin, Elliot Gould and Candice Bergen, as well as Conan O’Brien, introduced John Mulaney in Saturday night liveof the Five-Timers Club in the February 25 episode.

“Not an asshole, but my Five-Timers show in December is supposed to be a lot better. That was before the entire cast decided to call sick,” Rudd said, referring to his year-end episode being interrupted by a spike in omicron cases and ending up with only a few people in attendance.

“They all have COVID,” Bergen told Rudd, and Martin joked, “So what? I have COVID right now. I got it from the Queen. ”

When Mulaney entered, Martin greeted him with “Ah, Megan Mullally, like I’m alive on the breath.” Bergen congratulated him on being introduced, before asking who he was.

“Well, Candice, you wouldn’t know me, but if you have a niece or a son who doesn’t play sports, they probably do,” Mulaney replied.

Rudd continued by explaining that although the night was Mulaney’s induction, it was also part of Rudd’s celebration. “My party was canceled due to laziness,” he said. As Mulaney led him out of the studio, Fey entered and was given a special cocktail.

“It was a five-hour game. It’s made with Justin Timberlake’s tequila, Dan Aykroyd’s vodka, and Tracy Morgan’s club soda, which is aquarium water,” Fey explains.

“I have to say, I didn’t know people were this kind,” Mulaney told Fey. “When I worked here, I was just a writer,” she replied, “You are one of the best. You wrote that character with Bill Hader and 800 other things that have aged horribly.”

Bergen went on to tell Mulaney that the Five Floor Club had become so big, someone had to retire before he could be introduced.

“Too bad no one here has reached retirement age,” says Martin. “You are 76 years old,” Mulaney told him. “Yes, but I have the child of a 38-year-old, and we can’t get rid of Tina. She was the first woman to ever wear glasses on TV,” Martin replied. “It’s correct, Weekly entertainment Fey said. “And that can’t be Candice. She was back here in the 70s, can you imagine the sexual harassment that happened back then? ”

Bergen continued, “Oh, yeah, I made those guys do really weird things,” Gould replied, “I’m fine with it.” The group went on to say that the Five Floor Club is no longer special.

“Did someone say ‘not special?'” SNL, he was part of the first special Five Times club.

“John and I were never supposed to be on TV, we were disgusting. It’s correct? Say it, John,” O’Brien told Mulaney, who said, “I guess so.”

“We are, and here we are, and we’re taking what’s ours!”
