Anytime Todd Snyder collaborates with horology whizzes at Timex, it’s remarkable, but this iteration – a stark change from the latter’s groundbreaking Q style – feels particularly refreshing. Snyder’s wares tend to be more colourful; over the years, his fun spin on classic americana had endeared him to the fashion heads and average Joes in close fashion. That’s not to say black isn’t in his garage. But when the designer focuses on color, it feels deliberate, a conscious decision to avoid the garish colors he loves.
So it’s no surprise that the latest Timex to treat Snyder is so thoughtfully considered. The Q was an OG quartz watch that helped popularize many of the details – a rotating bezel, an active battery cover, a date function – that would eventually become famous in the watch world. Mercifully, Snyder keeps those elements in mind, but sporting the full monochrome stainless steel shebang looks great peeking out from underneath a crisp white shirt. You know the important finishing touches we always try on? This type of watch is exactly what we mean. And with less than 200 bones, you won’t find another one wallet-friendly option with an iota of its fanfare.
Like everything the two work on, it probably won’t last long, so go for Todd Snyder Location (or, you know, hit the buy button above) to score a table for yourself. [*Checks wrist*] Now is officially the time to go.
