One of the most annoying things you might be asked after a good night’s sleep is, “You sound tired?” I can’t help but wake up with puffy eyes every day – I was born with puffy eyes. For some people, puffiness around the eyes can be due to lack of sleep while for others (myself included) it can be a combination of genetics and/or inflammatory and/or problems. cyclic. If you tend to get inflamed or stimulated circulation, make sure to stay hydrated and limit sodium in your diet – that was the difference between day and night for me. Okay, so once I was at peace with the fact that I had to live with my puffy eyes (unless I was injected with opacifier), I put my eyes through the training program. I’ve tried every eye patch, tool, serum, TikTok trend you can imagine. I even tried freezing tea bags. The green tea bags really work. While I’ve found a puffy-removing ritual I swear by, I enlisted the help of esthetician and expert on puffy removal, Joomee Song, to share my treatment for swollen eyes. poop professionally.

Drinking a lot of alcohol also dehydrates your body, which can make your eyes puffy.”

My De-Puffing Ritual
Step 1: Drink 32 oz of water
The first thing I do when I wake up is drink 32 oz of water to restore my digestive system and flush out toxins. Drinking enough water will help reduce puffy eyes throughout the day.
Step 2: Rolled ice
After moisturizing, I immediately roll the ice under my eyes with a roller or sphere. When I travel, I also use regular ice cubes. Cooling the under-eye area helps reduce inflammation and swelling by reducing blood flow.
Step 3: Patch it up
I’m obsessed with eye patches. This is possibly the most important step (or my favorite) in my makeup removal routine. I see the biggest difference after this step. I usually use a roller or orb parallel to the eye patch to kill two birds with one stone.
Step 4: Gua Sha
Gua sha is extremely effective for removing accumulated toxins, allergies and inflammation. When using gua sha under the eyes, it is important to be gentle as the skin is thin and delicate. After applying the facial oil, I gently move the gua sha plant from the inner eye to the outer eye and glide back to the ear down the neck to deposit fluids and toxins into the lymph nodes. I surfed gua sha about 4-5 times each side.
Step 5: Vibration and heat
I don’t do this every day but whenever I put on makeup after removing it, I have to do this. I use NuFace Fix or Solarwave. The vibration and heat effect in the instruments enhances circulation to the skin, improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients.
Step 6: Eye Cream
The final step in my anti-puffiness routine is to combine it all with an eye cream or serum. I look for an eye cream with a lighter density to avoid milia or congestion.
