Top 5 TV podcasts – The Hollywood Reporter

Welcome to Episode 148 of Top 5 . TV, The Hollywood ReporterTV podcasts.

Every week, organize Lesley Goldberg (West Coast TV Editor) and Daniel Fienberg (main TV critic) analyzes the latest TV news with context from the business and critical aspects, welcomes presenters, executives and other guests, and provides provides important guidance on what to watch (or ignore, as the case may be).

This week’s episode is our alternate 2022 preview, which includes another interview with Cobra Kai creators and check out the new and popular comeback series coming soon. Here’s how the episode goes:

1. The most anticipated new series of scripts on TV.
The battle for the throne begins as Halo, Lord of the Rings and Dragon’s House beat it to become the next broad-leaning genre of interest to audiences and award voters. Other newcomers include Invented Anna from Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy’s Monster, plus new things A league of their own, Bel-Air and Queer as Folk. More Sandman, Pam & Tommy, Victory Time, Peacemaker and more. How many of these can offer on the buzz?

2. The most anticipated comeback script series on TV.
Atlanta, Weird Things, Russian Dolls, Miraculous Lady Maisel, Better Call Saul and many others are finally returning to screens after their years-long delays, some as a result of the pandemic. This segment looks at a busy year leading up to a host of well-loved accolades – looking at you, Crown – and significant other lovers that we can’t wait to get back in our lives.

3. Favorite TV series Say Goodbye in 2022.
Killing Eve, Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, This Is Us, Better Things, Search Party, The Expanse and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, among the scores of others, will finish their activity next year.

4. Showrunner lights.
In a new Top 5 . TV annual tradition, we join by Cobra Kai creator Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg to preview the new part of karate boy update. The exhibition trilogy opens about bringing back a villain from Karate Kid 3 in part four, the state of the Miyagi verse and if they are Team Tory or Team Sam. 5. Criticism Corner.
As usual, each episode ended with Dan giving his assessment of what to watch over the next week. In this episode, he reviews Books by Boba Fett on Disney+, Harry Potter reunion on HBO Max, Netflix’s Cobra Kai, Fox’s cleaning woman, ABC’s Abbott Elementary School and Women of the Movement, NBC’s American cars and Grand Crew and CBS’ Good Sam.
