Holding on to its increasingly controversial Covid policy, the Beijing government has pushed for control measures in provinces across the country in response to the recent contagion. Beijing’s Universal Studios Theme Park was temporarily closed last week after a guest tested positive, and Macao’s gambling hub recently locked down a large casino. Major manufacturing hubs such as Guangzhou have also been hit by an increased number of cases and a dramatic shutdown of business.
