Toyota Tundra Super Bowl ad teases Tommy Lee, Leslie and Rashida Jones racing
As you may have heard, there is a sports competition coming up this weekend, something about Stellantis pickup truck from Los Angeles vs Buick . concept car are from Cincinnati. Toyota There will be not one, but two ads in the game, with completely different tones. One is a sobering heart-pounding tale of a Paralympic athlete’s triumph over adversity. The other is just a silly joke with the new racing celebrities Tundras.
In “Brothers,” we follow the lives of real-life Paralympic gold medalists Brian and Robin McKeever. In flashback, the two brothers trained to be cross-country skiers while growing up in Canada. At the age of 19, Brian developed Stargardt’s macular degeneration, a disease that caused him to lose his sight. However, he persists with the help of Robin, who acts as a guide calling for Brian as he slips along the same path a few steps behind his brother.
According to Toyota. Extremely light commercials about cars, but we will see a classic first generation Celica almost completely obscured by snow, as well as the fifth generation Toyota pickup truck hide background. Toyota is a supporter of many Paralympic athletes, and recently Auction a pair of Tundras to raise money for them.
The second ad has yet to be released, with Toyota releasing three trailers featuring their three stars, all bearing the last name Jones. In the first part, Tommy Lee Jones sits behind the wheel of a Tundra SR5 TRD on a deserted desert road, seemingly satisfied with his license plate, Texas license plate saying “#1JONES”. An unseen driver in an orange Tundra TRD Pro sped up beside him. It also has the license plate “#1JONES” but is from New York. The engine spins, Jones switches the 10-speed automatic to manual mode and cuts to the title tag before the action kicks in.
The second teaser, shot from the perspective of a TRD Pro driver, reveals comedian Leslie Jones. Much of the same footage is used, but this time, the former SNL member said, “I’m about to make a grown man cry” as she filmed the 3.5-liter turbocharged V6.
In the final teaser, Joneses Tommy Lee and Leslie are in the middle of a tough race. The third Tundra SR5 TRD to enter the fray, this time with the California license plate “#1JONES”. It’s Rashida Jones, hurling mud on Leslie’s TRD Pro as she pulls ahead.
The soundtrack to “It’s Not Unusual” by Tom Jones, obviously, is going to be more humorous, and vans are front and center positions. There is a lot of potential here, as there are almost as many variations of the 2022 Tundra as there are celebrities named Jones. Toyota may have missed the chance to get Spike Jonze in a base SR, James Earl in a black Limited with a light sword mount, or perhaps Catherine Zeta in a Platinum and January in a Capstone for a show seven-way racing. Toyota says the full ad will be revealed during the football match itself on February 13.
