Two passenger trains crashed after one among them derailed within the southern English metropolis of Salisbury, and a number of other folks have been injured, authorities stated Sunday.
Community Rail stated the rear carriage of a passenger prepare derailed after “hanging an object” because it approached the station at Salisbury, about 70 miles (113 kilometers) southwest of London. The derailment “knocked out the entire signaling within the space,” and a second prepare then collided with the derailed one.
“There are experiences of accidents and the emergency companies are on website together with railway first responders,” Community Rail stated.
The British Transport Police stated there have been no fatalities. The police drive stated “quite a few folks” have been injured within the crash, but it surely didn’t give particulars.
Some 50 firefighters rushed to the scene, the Dorset and Wiltshire Fireplace and Rescue Service stated.
British media reported that every one passengers and a driver who was trapped in his cab have been evacuated, and the accidents have been believed to be minor.
