Tribute concert held for music promoter who was killed in hit-and-run
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita’s music scene held a tribute Saturday evening on the cotillion to honor and lift cash for Kenny Ballinger’s household. Kenny Ballinger was a neighborhood music promoter who was killed in a hit-and-run in August.
Greater than 30 bands carried out on the live performance Saturday evening to honor the late promoter. Ballinger owned Barleycorns and the Elbowroom and was recognized for at all times attempting to assist up-and-coming musicians.
A buddy of Kenneth’s, Alex Anthemides, said, “It’s a tribute to his life and what he delivered to everybody. He helped so many individuals out.”

The proceeds from Saturday’s live performance will go to a belief fund for his younger son and spouse. 31-year-old Jesus Olave was arrested and charged within the case.
