Twitter confirms that it will be testing an edit feature, saying it predates Musk (NYSE:TWTR)

Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) confirm that it worked on an enable feature edit tweets (a controversial feature in its user base) and will be testing it in the coming months.
News confirmed a April 1 post – “We’re working on an edit button” – that was largely seen as an April Fools joke, as a small but vocal portion of the user base called for a way to edit tweets in many years.
“Yes, we’ve been working on an editing feature since last year! No, we didn’t get the idea from a poll,” said Twitter Communications, referring to Monday night poll from heavy users (and new top shareholder and member of management CouncilElon Musk.
The company says it’s rolling out a test in its Twitter Blue lab, fueling some longtime speculation that the editing feature could be a value-added subscription service.
Twitter is 1.2% increase third postmarket; it 2% increase in the regular meeting.
The company added, in a new 13D filing regarding Musk’s board seat, that it has come to an agreement with Musk that he will not increase his beneficial ownership beyond 14.9% of the company.
