Two children hit by bullet while sitting in car at Durham County Burger King drive-thru


DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) — Two kids have been hit by bullet when the car they have been in was shot at Thursday night time.

The capturing occurred round 7 p.m. on the Burger King at 1605 US 70 East in Durham County.

The sheriff’s workplace stated the automotive with the kids inside was within the drive-thru of the quick meals restaurant when the capturing occurred.

The bullet broke the window of the automotive and hit the 2 kids — ages 2 and 11 — sitting within the again seat.

The household drove off and took the kids to a hospital for remedy. They’ve been launched from the hospital and authorities say they’re doing OK.

The Durham County Sheriff’s Workplace is investigating.

“(It was a) household outing and it is simply unhappy that we’re persevering with to expertise the gun violence that we’re in Durham and my workplace is dedicated to doing all we will do,” Sheriff Clarence Birkhead advised ABC11 on Friday.

Witnesses stated they heard pictures fired close by on the time the car was hit.

Investigators consider the household was not the meant goal.

No suspects have been seen and nobody has been arrested.
