Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton mocked black New York Knicks commentator Wally Szczerbiak by changing his profile picture on Twitter to an image of the former NBA forward.
After the Knicks’ win over the Pacers in December, Szczerbiak continued to criticize the 22-year-old and called him “Wannabe fake All-Star.” Szczerbiak — who played more than six of his 10 NBA seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and was once an All-Star — went on to say this about Haliburton.
“He’s in his sophomore year. He’s a very good player. He’s not going to make the All-Star team. Someone like Julius Randle or Jalen Brunson will get past Tyrese Haliburton. Tonight we saw why. why.”
Haliburton (who is actually in his third season) was selected as a substitute for the All-Star on Thursday night.
