The number of U.S. residence terrorism cases beneath investigation by the FBI has better than doubled since spring 2020, its director instructed a Senate listening to on Tuesday, after the Justice Division warned that white supremacists and militias pose a rising danger.
“The house terrorism caseload has exploded,” FBI Director Chris Wray said all through testimony sooner than the U.S. Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
The bureau now has about 2,700 residence terror investigations open, up sharply form about 1,000 throughout the spring of 2020, Wray said.
