Former Maharashtra Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday said the arrest of MP Sanjay Raut in a money-laundering case was part of a plot to kill Shiv Sena.
“I’m proud of Sanjay Raut. It’s a plot to destroy us. We have to wipe out those who speak against us. A kingdom politics with such ideology is going on,” Thackeray said. .
Sanjay Raut was arrested by the Department of Enforcement (ED) on Sunday in a money-laundering case involving the redevelopment of a chawl project in Mumbai.

Speaking to the media after meeting Raut’s family, Thackeray said: “Even Congress has ruled for 60 to 65 years, but look at them now. get in touch with party leaders in the region such as Mamata Banerjee and KSR. BJP is planning to wipe out forces in the area.”
Raut, 60, was arrested after more than six hours of questioning at ED’s regional office in South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate shortly after midnight on Sunday. ED has seized Rs 11.50 lakh worth of cash from Sanjay Raut’s residence during a 9-hour raid conducted in connection with the Patra chawl land fraud case.
