UK vs India: Everything you need to know about the ODI and T20I series
India and the UK are both set to lock horns in three T20Is and multiple ODIs from Thursday, July 7 to Sunday, July 17.
Both teams have named their respective teams captained by Jos Buttler and Rohit Sharma.
Buttler has a big task ahead of him after replacing Eoin Morgan as captain of the Three Lions. Morgan retired from international cricket after the ODI series against the Netherlands. Buttler also took the lead in his third ODI against the Netherlands after Morgan missed the game due to groin stiffness.
The series is also an opportunity for right-hand man Harry Brook to show that he is good and truly belongs to the highest class. Brook was the captain of the England U19 team at the 2018 World Cup in New Zealand and recently, he excelled when playing for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
As for India, Rohit Sharma is back after he missed his fifth test due to Covid-19 related issues. Former national captain Virat Kohli will not compete in the first T20I and will return for the final two matches of the series.
Arshdeep Singh has been called up to his first ODI after impressive performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Umran Malik will also be looking to make his mark after performing quite well in Andrew Balbirnie’s T20I series against Ireland.
