UNC takes a 25-point lead, still beating Baylor No. 1 in OT

The defending champion Baylor Bears was eliminated from the 2022 NCAA Tournament after losing to eighth seed North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, 93-86.

Baylor was the first No. 1 seed to be eliminated, despite an incredible comeback to force overtime. Faced with a 25-point deficit, the Bears climbed all the way back and forced the game to the prescribed 15 seconds to force overtime. If Baylor wins, it will tie the record for the biggest comeback in NCAA Tournament history.

But North Carolina recovered and overcame Baylor, 13-6, in stoppage time to advance to Sweet 16.

The turning point in the second half was North Carolina’s Brady Manek, who left the game with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
