Underactive thyroid: These changes in your face could indicate hypothyroidism
The MSD manual describes the symptoms of hypothyroidism as “subtle and insidious.”
According to the health authority, the most commonly reported symptoms include water retention and puffiness, especially around the eyes, fatigue, cold intolerance and mental depression.
However, changes in facial expressions can also be a sign of hypothyroidism.
“Facial expression becomes dull, voice hoarse, speech slurred, eyelids droop, eyes and face puffy,” explains the MSD User Guide.
