Universal Orlando restores mask rule amid COVID-19 Omicron Surge – The Hollywood Reporter
Universal Orlando is reinstating its mask requirements starting Christmas Eve as COVID-19 cases are increasing due to the omicron variation.
Daily coronavirus cases have quadrupled in the past week in the state of Florida, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC says hospitalizations have increased 12%.
Universal Orlando said masks will be required at all indoor public locations and at all attractions from the time guests enter the line until they leave. The resort has seen a busy holiday season with popular trips this week reporting wait times of up to three hours.
The requirements will be for guests and staff regardless of immunization status and will include restaurants, shops and indoor public areas of the hotel.
Walt Disney World has yet to announce any decisions about the face mask restoration.
