Unlucky Josh Moore required surgery after Haydock fell | Racing news
Josh Moore is preparing for another surgery after he fell on Haydock on Saturday.
Moore also suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung, as well as damage to his lower back, when parting with Gleno at the sixth fence during the veterans’ final chase on Merseyside.
The driver was at Aintree hospital and was in intensive care overnight on Sunday.
Josh’s father Gary Moore said on Monday morning: “He was heavily sedated overnight and he is currently sedated as he hopes to have leg surgery today.
“His back isn’t okay, he’s also going to need surgery. But they’ll have to arrange the back after that, I guess that’s just what they do.”
It is the second time this season that Moore has suffered a serious injury, with the driver missing a large part of the campaign following a serious back injury in October.
Although a difficult time for all of the close Moore family, Moore Snr pointed out that the hardest time for a man is falling and having to spend time out of the saddle with injuries. .
“For Josh, it’s been very difficult for him this season, very disappointing,” the coach added.
