(Update) Prosecutors ask for 15-year sentence for former ‘cheer’ star Jerry Harris in child porn case

According to TMZ, the US attorney’s office is asking a judge to sentence the “Cheer” star Jerry Harris 15 years in his child pornography case.

Star “Cheer” Jerry Harris should be behind bars for 15 years in prison for his child pornography case…at least according to federal prosecutors.

Prosecutors claimed that his actions were “terrible” but said his childhood was to blame, and this was the reason for the “somewhat lenient” sentence.

Prosecutors called Harris’ actions horrific, but noted his difficult childhood was also included in their recommendation of a lenient 15-year sentence.

Harris is also required to receive 10 years of supervised release upon his release from prison. In contrast, Harris’s team is demanding a sentence of six years in prison and eight years of supervised release.

The victims involved in the case are twin brothers, and their mother has spoken out about Harris’s disturbing crimes.

In an effort to deter mass predators and avoid harming other children, my sons bravely spoke out publicly about the sexual abuse they suffered at the hands of Jerry Harris. I will continue my mission to hold Jerry Harris and his supporters fully accountable before the courts of law and the courts of public opinion.

She added that Jerry Harris’ confession gives her “hope that the pain and grief my sons have suffered as a result of speaking out will not be in vain.”

As you know, Harris is guilty of one count of receiving child pornography and one count of traveling with the intent to commit unlawful sexual conduct in February.
