(Update) The father of the teenager who died after falling from a drop-off tower while riding in Orlando says his son “paniced as he was going up”

The father of 14-year-old Tire Simpson, Yarnell Sampson, spoke out about his son’s tragic Thursday night incident. On Thursday, a high school football player and St. Louis died after falling from a drop tower at Orlando’s ICON PARK.

Yarnell said his son “did panic when he went up.” He also said that his son had told his friends who were also on the bus that he felt uncomfortable.

“He was like, ‘What’s going on?’ That’s when he started to get confused, and he was explaining to the friend next to him, ‘I don’t know this man. If I can’t, please tell my parents that I love them. ‘ For him, he must have felt something. ”

The teen was 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighed more than 300 pounds.

“This particular train says, ‘We can take you, come on! Climb up!’ No one else allowed him to get in the car, so I’m wondering what happened between now and then making them say, “Come on, get this ride!”

Yarnell says the ride should have stopped, and he plans to find the answers.

“This will never happen to anyone else’s child again, and if I have anything to do with this, it won’t happen again.”

Condolences to the family.
