Update Weekend Address Kyle Rittenhouse, Climate Crisis – The Hollywood Reporter
Saturday Live night Weekend Updates hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che covered everything from Kyle Rittenhouse’s acquittal of all criminal charges to Baby Yoda floating during the Thanksgiving Day parade, to the crisis climate, with Aidy Bryant as Mother Earth.
After opening the segment on November 20th by poking fun at Joe Biden’s colonoscopy, the hosts quickly moved to Rittenhouse for not committing the murder of two men amid a brutal protest. by the police last summer.
“So hopefully he got all those shootings off his system before he became a cop,” Che said.
Jost then slammed Matt Gaetz when he said he would be willing to hire Rittenhouse as a congressional intern “because Gates has always loved teenagers who are willing to do terrible things.”
During the segment, Che also joked about a Washington DC school postponing the naming of the theater after Dave Chappelle, due to the controversy surrounding his latest Netflix special, Closer. “God forbid you name a building after someone with a problem in Washington DC,” he said, with images of the Washington and Jefferson memorials.
Baby Yoda appeared in Weekend update, in honor of a recent announcement that Star Wars characters will get their own floats in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday. “Yes boy. Has returned. What’s up, New York City?! ‘ Yoda said. “Dude, I got paid $2 million to kick it with Pikachu, Ronald McDonald and the guy from Diary of a Wimpy Kid on live TV as high as hell. Great! ”
Yoda also joked about his new “pop punk” look – complete with barbed wire and spider web tattoos – before announcing his new album, “Confessions of the Diary of a Lose,” about The “not loved in high school because of you” job left a bit of a Jedi green. “
The showrunners ended the segment with an appearance from Mother Earth, played by Bryant in “Chico’s dress” which she got for having “the moon on the boob”. “I don’t understand why people say the earth is flat, have you seen these honkas?”
