Updated Polestar 2 in 2023, Saudi Arabia will drive Lucids, California and gasoline supercars: Car News Today

California could provide stronger incentives for those who use the most gas. Lucid Air sedans and Gravity SUVs point to the future of Saudi Arabia’s government fleet. And Polestar heralds a few changes for a new model year of the ‘2.’ This and more, here at Green Car Report.

The 2023 Polestar lineup 2 can get more driving range — including more real-world range — from an improved heat pump, the brand claims. The new model year will also bring an upgraded cabin air filter, a removable sunshade and a new set of colors and wheel designs. And buyers will get a car with a lower carbon footprint than before.

California is thinking about revising its electric vehicle incentives to target low-income drivers who also use huge amounts of gas. Incentives can make a bigger difference if they are targeted get gasoline-powered “superusers” to run on electricity?

And the government of Saudi Arabia will buy up to 100,000 flexible EVs over a 10-year period, with deliveries starting in the second quarter of 2023, the company confirmed Tuesday. These vehicles will initially come from Lucid’s Arizona plant but will then likely be supplied directly from its upcoming facility in Saudi Arabia.
