Adam Hadwin produced a stellar birdie run to take a lead at the 122nd US Open, where Rory McIlroy was part of the chase team.
Hadwin posted five birdies in six holes en route to the opening round of 66 at The Country Club in Brookline, giving the world No. 105 a tight advantage over a strong five-under-three team.
