US police say 6 killed, at least 9 injured in Sacramento shooting | Gun Violence News
Police asked people to avoid the downtown area, where many restaurants and bars are located.
Local police say at least six people were killed and nine injured in a shooting in downtown Sacramento, California.
“Please avoid this area as a large police presence will remain and the scene remains active,” the Sacramento Police Department said Sunday on social media.
The Sacramento Police Department said the shooting happened early Sunday morning.
Video posted on Twitter shows people running across the street as the sound of rapid gunfire can be heard in the background. Video shows several ambulances being dispatched to the scene.
Police provided some details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Phone messages seeking comment were left with Sacramento police.
The area where the shooting took place is packed with restaurants and bars leading to the Golden One Center, where the Sacramento kings played basketball.
