Vaccine drive for preventive dose in Chennai inaugurated


According to the Tamil Nadu Department of Public Health, 40,000 healthcare workers, frontline workers and those over 60 years old with comorbidities are eligible for the vaccine.

Forty thousand people are eligible including 2,06,128 healthcare workers, 92,816 frontline workers and 1,01,069 elderly people with comorbidities.

MK Stalin has also given an order to the insurance provider, United India Insurance Company Ltd (UIICL), to renew the CMCHIS for 5 years from 11 January 2022. An amount of Rs 1,248.29 crore has been obtained by the government. Tamil Nadu sanctioned because of plan for Insurance company.

A statement from the Minister’s Office on Monday said that under the scheme, beneficiaries can get medical treatment with insurance coverage for 1090 medical and surgical procedures at 1,600 hospitals, covering 714 patients government hospitals and 886 private hospitals.

The plan offers coverage from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1.37 families and friends across the state with an annual income of less than Rs 1,20,000. In December 2021, the state government revised the eligibility limit from Rs 72,000 to Rs 1,20,000.
