Vancouver community group receives award for helping LGBTQ2+ refugees

A Vancouver-based group group that helps folks in search of refugee safety in Canada is being acknowledged for its longstanding dedication to LGBTQ2 folks.

Rainbow Refugee, Circle of Courage helps folks in search of refugee safety because of persecution primarily based on sexual orientation, gender id, gender expression or HIV standing.

The Canadian Affiliation of Skilled Immigration Consultants (CAPIC) will probably be honouring the group with the 2021 Ivor Carvalho Award at a gala dinner Thursday evening.

This award is given to these working to vary the immigration system for the higher.

The group has been working not too long ago with an LGBTQ2 refugee from Uganda, Namuddu, whose title has been modified to guard her id. She sought asylum in Canada and resides in Vancouver, working at a job to assist ladies and youngsters within the Downtown Eastside.

Nonetheless, she wants Rainbow Refugee, Circle of Braveness, to assist her help her 4 kids who stay behind in Uganda. She needed to go away them behind to guard her personal life.
