Vanessa Bryant announces new partnership with Nike to produce products inspired by Kobe and Gigi Bryant

Kobe Bryant’s influence at Nike will continue! After nearly a year since the original All-Star endorsement deal ended, Vanessa Bryant and Nike announced the new partnership on Thursday. Based on ESPN, the company will continue to produce shoes and clothing from the ‘Zoom Kobe’ series.

“We are pleased to announce that our partnership with Nike will continue! I’m very proud that my husband’s shoes are still worn by players most on the NBA courts, and the demand for his shoes is still desired by fans around the world.” Vanessa wrote as a caption on Instagram.

Nike also released a statement about the new partnership. The company expressed how much Kobe means to them, the NBA fans, and people around the world.

“His impact in developing the sport, especially encouraging women and young people to embrace it, will live on as one of his most enduring and profound legacies,” said President and CEO. Nike CEO John Donahoe said in a statement. “Together with Vanessa, we hope to honor Kobe and Gigi by championing the new generation for many years to come.”

But Kobe isn’t the only one honored in the new partnership. Vanessa and Kobe’s daughter Gianna Bryant are also set to influence the device. In fact, the first new sneakers from the deal will be the Kobe 6 Protro ‘Mambacita Sweet 16.’

This shoe is part of a broader shoe series that celebrates Gigi while also giving back to the community.

“With this new partnership, fans will soon have access to Nike Kobe and Gigi products for years to come, and with Nike donating 100% of its annual proceeds to Gianna’s shoes to the world. Mamba and our Mambacita Sports Foundation (M&MSF),” Vanessa wrote.

Based on ESPN, Nike says the first drop from the partnership could happen on May 1 — in time for Gigi’s 16th birthday. Apparently, the shoe was manufactured before April 2021, but it was never released. These sneakers are said to come in a color scheme featuring black, white, and gold accents.

There is an additional charitable component to the partnership with Nike. The company promised to put money into building a specific piece of Kobe heritage.

“I am also grateful that Nike and I will be working together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba Spirit with young athletes for generations to come,” Vanessa wrote. . “I know this is an inspiring moment for my husband and daughter’s global fans, and I appreciate each and every one of you!”

Kobe and Gianna Bryant died in a 2020 helicopter crash that also killed seven others, including some of Gigi’s basketball teammates and their families.
