VinFast recalls nearly 2,800 cars in Vietnam, will correct the American model

“Due to a specific component assembly, the bolt connecting the front brake caliper to the knuckle may become loose while the vehicle is in operation, potentially reducing the effectiveness of the front brake,” a VinFast representative said. .

The company says it will immediately adjust the tightening torque for the 999 VF8s shipped to the United States.

“This is a relatively simple procedure that can be done quickly and will not affect the delivery schedule, which is expected to begin in late February 2023,” it said.

The company delivered more than 4,000 electric vehicles to domestic customers in December, more than half of which were the VF8 sport utility vehicle. It received 55,000 orders globally as of December last year, including 12,000 orders from the US market.

VinFast said that it has not recorded any breakdowns or customer complaints about the loosening of bolts that can cause problems for the brakes.
