Vladimir Solovyov, Putin’s No. 1 Cheerleader, Rips into Russia’s War Failures
Russia’s leading propagandist Vladimir Solovyov spent his weekends on the front lines supporting and promoting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Unfortunately for the Kremlin, all the time facing the grim reality is teaching Solovyov how bad this war is going.
And he’s not happy about that.
In a wild rage on Thursday, Solovyov overall strategic offensive, claiming that the Russian Army had failed miserably to suppress their enemies and saying he had direct evidence of silly tactical errors on the front lines.
In my program Full contactSolovyov was furious over the recent announcement that Ukraine will soon receive Abrams and Leopard-2 tanks from NATO countries. The host begins his monologue with a sigh, asking: “So we’ve lived long enough to see this?” He urges the audience not to trust the projected tank numbers for upcoming deliveries, predicting that they will send more: “They will deliver everything. I’ve been saying it for a while, these bastards will also reinstate Hitler in our lives… this is where things are going… World War III is on and the West is back Nazi origin. Germany was tired of concealing its Nazi nature, and the United States finally openly acknowledged its Nazi line.”
Calling the Americans “devious liars,” Solovyov says their arrogance is Russia’s own fault: “We don’t pose any threat against them. We’re not attacking New York, we’re not attacking Washington, we’re not threatening Miami, we’re not doing anything that endangers Americans. They blew up our pipes, we just wiped our faces. They are supplying heavy tanks, we are wiping the face. Stop talking about red lines! It’s a completely empty phrase with no meaning at all!”
Enraged, Solovyov shouted: “Berlin, Paris, Madrid, London, Washington should burn! The capitals of the Nazi nations decided to go to war with Russia… Why was Kyiv not wiped out after the Nazi nation Ukraine launched an attack on our strategic air base ? Stop using clichés and worthless words!”
The presenter went on to declare: “Strikes are underway against our cities! Against our land! Russian soldiers are dying! Russians are dying! The Nazis are rejoicing! How do we plan to respond? By howling that avoiding nuclear war is the most important thing? Then why do we have a stockpile of tactical and strategic nuclear weapons? To be afraid to use it? So big decorated generals will gasp, “Do you want a nuclear war?” Do you want to destroy Russia with conventional weapons, of which NATO countries are three and a half times more numerous than we are?
Solovyov shouts that destroying Ukraine’s infrastructure is not enough. He demanded to know: “Why Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk [Dnipro] Does it still exist?” He angrily shouted: “We are no longer stationed near Kiev! Was that a goddamn goodwill gesture? A gesture of goodwill? And Kharkiv is a gesture of goodwill? No one is executed by shooting [surrendering] Kharkiv! No one is allowed to retire, at least not publicly. Society has not received any answer to its question. I’m asking you, why are you moving the front lines closer to Belgorod? We haven’t returned to those locations yet! In response—silence. Silent.”
Solovyov demanded to destroy the enemy “on their own land”: “Citizens of NATO countries must not feel at peace, while the Russians are suffering… Citizens! A war has been declared against us. Wake up! Wake up.”
Solovyov’s guest, military reporter Alexander Kots, revealed one of the reasons why the host was angry with impotence: the apparent incompetence and mismanagement of the invading forces by the military leadership. their affairs. Discussing new items that NATO countries are expected to deliver to Ukraine, Kots said: “Although we have this list, it is only on paper for now, we should start thinking about it. think about what we’ll do when or if all of those items get to the front lines. Somehow, we had to resist their artillery and tank systems. Over the last month, over the course of the holidays, as a member of the president’s Human Rights Council, I have received messages of outrage and concern from loved ones. [of soldiers]. We trained – I won’t say how many, but a fair number of artillery battalions, but all of them were sent to the infantry. This is a large number of people, we trained them for three months, spent ammunition, cost money to build a place for them, great instructors from our military colleges —including the Mikhailovskaya Artillery Military Academy—have devoted their time and knowledge to their training. As for our artillery, it’s a very sad story… we don’t have any artillery schools left! We used to have 11 people and now only Mikhailovskaya is left.”
Solovyov commented that he became aware of this problem thanks to his visits to the front lines. Kots added that the same problem is happening with anti-tank divisions, describing them as “the very units that should have been the ones to confront this Armada tank, burning the Abrams tanks on fire. and that Leopard. Instead, for some reason, they were also transferred to infantry. I can’t understand why this is happening… We have trained the experts professionally, trained them properly, but they sit without proper assignment… While we are in the process. Faced with the threat of these shipments from the West to the front lines by Spring, it’s very wasteful on our part.”
Solovyov added: “I understand that you don’t fight tanks with tanks, you use other means. Our anti-tank fist is ready.” Kots hit him in the head with more bad news: “The first line of defense against these tanks will usually consist of mobilized men. Our mobilized soldiers on the front lines are armed only with Kalashnikovs. Unfortunately, there are no anti-tank weapons on many front lines.”
Solovyov returned to his favorite subject, claiming that it was only a matter of time before NATO delivered tactical nuclear weapons to Ukraine. “I believe the use of tactical nuclear weapons is inevitable,” he said. The question is who will do it first: us or them.” Playing along, Kots pointed out: “The tanks being delivered contain depleted uranium.” After Solovyov noted that depleted uranium is not radioactive, Kots suggested: “It could still be used as a pretext to use our tactical nuclear weapons.”
But even the famous guise of threatening Russia’s adversaries with nuclear anarchy did not bring the bitter propagandist even the slightest bit of customary satisfaction. Introducing his next guest, Solovyov bitterly complained: “I am sad. All of this is sad.”
