Vulcan RCMP respond to fatal collision between train and van – Lethbridge


Vulcan RCMP, EMS, CP police and Alberta Sheriff Freeway Patrol all responded to a collision Monday morning at round 10:30 a.m. between a big van and a prepare.

A 49-year-old girl, who was a passenger within the van, was declared lifeless on the scene.

The motive force of the van, a 52-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.

The collision occurred within the space of Township Street 132 and a railway crossing close to Vary Street 230 in Vulcan County.

A launch from Alberta RCMP reads “preliminary investigation reveals the van was travelling westbound on Township Street 132 when it was struck by a prepare that was travelling southbound.”

Each occupants of the prepare have been unhurt.

The RCMP Collision Analyst additionally attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
