Accumulation Police say the shooting at a Walmart in Virginia on Tuesday night left several people dead and injured.
The Chesapeake Police Department confirmed the incident to The Daily Beast at the Walmart store, off Battlefield Avenue.
During a press conference, Chesapeake public information officer Leo Kosinski said the call to authorities was made at 10:12 p.m.
“We go inside and make a long story short, for the next 30-45 minutes we can find many dead and many injured,” Kosinski said.
Police said the gunman acted alone and is believed to be among those killed.
One person was found dead outside the building while the rest were inside. “Officers are still at the scene checking the building to make sure” that there was only one gunman, police said.

A man who identifies himself as a store employee at Walmart, Kevin Harper, posted a Facebook Live on Tuesday night after the shooting. He was seen standing outside the store as police cars surrounded it.

The video follows Harper touching the facility with other colleagues from the store as they discuss what happened and who survived.

The surviving colleagues seemed shocked as they discussed the shooter’s possible identity. “The manager guy? Why did he shoot everyone?

In another social media post, Joetta Jeffrey, whose mother was at Walmart when the shooting happened, said her mother told her “they took a man out with a shopping cart because there was no one available. enough stretchers.”
