Wanted man from Lake Manitoba First Nation may also be victim, RCMP say – Winnipeg

The Manitoba RCMP is looking for a suspect who may also be a victim in connection with the early morning attack on May 4.

The West Interlake RCMP said they were called to a home on Lake Manitoba First Nation shortly before 3 a.m. that morning to a fight between two men that may have involved weapons.

When police arrived, no one was at the scene, but police found weapons as well as evidence of serious injuries.

Police said they visited a nearby home the men were known to frequent and found a man, 29, critically injured. He was taken to a hospital in Winnipeg in a stable condition, arrested for assault and released on parole with a future court date.

The second man, 22-year-old Santana Paul, is still an adult. Police said he could face charges in connection with the assault, but they also believe he was injured in the incident.

He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 161 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.
