Warner Bros. TV franchise, Ashley Nicole Black to reach mutual agreement – The Hollywood Reporter

Ashley Nicole Black is joining the Warner Bros. Television Group.

The Ted Lasso writer-producer and A black lady sketch show star and writer signed a master agreement at the studio. Under the multi-year agreement, Black will create and produce programming for WarnerMedia’s HBO Max platform, other streaming services, and broadcast and cable outlets.

The deal is Black’s first overall deal at Warner Bros. Television Corporation, but she’s worked on a number of WarnerMedia projects in recent years. She is a writer and performer on TBS’s Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, winning an Emmy in 2017 as one of the show’s writers. Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner special. She has seven other Emmys that nod for writing on Full front, HBO’s A black lady sketch show and Peacock’s The Amber Ruffin Show.

In 2021, Black is the writer and producer of the second season of Apple TV + Ted Lasso (produced by WBTV). She’s a supervisory producer and writer on the upcoming Apple Bad monkey, starring Vince Vaughn and executive produced by Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence through his WB-based Doozer Productions.

Outside A black lady sketch show and Full front, Black appeared on History of drunkenness and do voiceover work on Fox’s Bob’s Burgers and Dai Bac. She is represented by UTA, Mosaic and attorney Jared Levine.
